Lawn Vacuum

A lawn vacuum looks a lot like a common power lawnmower but with larger wheels and a generous enclosed catcher. The motor doesn't turn cutting blades but produces suction which will suck up leaves, grass, twigs and other debris.

Buying a lawn vacuum can be a good investment if your back yard has a lot of trees that shed leaves each fall. A lawn vacuum will suck the leaves up, mulching them, and packing the mulch into a bag. Pushing along a lawn vacuum is as easy as pushing along a lawn mover. Lawn vacuums can also be used to clean walkways and driveways, and attachments allow a fitted flexible hose to for sucking leaves out of planters, shrubbery and hard to reach places.

We're probably more familiar with blowers than lawn vacuums but things are set to change. For one thing, lawn vacuums do a better job of tidying up leaves in your back yard. A lawn blower just blows leaves, grass and clippings to somewhere else whereas a lawn vacuum collects and mulches what it collects. Also, lawn vacuums are much quieter. Many people find the noise produced from a blower to be a real nuisance and many local cities have banned the use of lawn blowers for this reason. Another advantage of lawn vacuums is that they produce a lot less pollution compared to a blower.

You can buy various models of lawn vacuums, starting from small machines right up to commercial grade machines. Some models are also desinged to pulled along behind a lawn mower tractor, so you can cut, gether up and mulch your grass cuttings all at the same time. The size, model and price you pay will depend on the size of your yard.

Having a lawn vacuum is a great time saver and after you've been using it for a short while, you'll wonder how you ever lived without one.
